SpeakPapa — Privacy Policy

The short version

The SpeakPapa app does not collect your personal data. There are no accounts, no cloud, no app analytics, no ads, and no tracking in the app. Voice recordings and practice history stay on your device. We could not see your practice data even if we wanted to — your recordings and practice history are never sent to any server. The only network connections the app makes are to Apple (for purchases) and to deliver app updates; see "App services and updates" below.

What the app stores, and where

All app data is stored locally on your device only:

  • Voice practice recordings (your or your family member's voice)
  • Practice history (dates, which sounds and items were practiced)
  • Settings, including the optional name used in spoken greetings
  • The current practice configuration

We do not receive, transmit, access, or store any of this information. It never leaves the device unless you yourself export or share it using your device's features.

Microphone

The app requests microphone access for one purpose: recording voice practice so it can be played back on the device. The microphone is active only during the recording step of a practice session. No audio is transmitted off the device. We do not create voiceprints and do not use recordings to identify any person.

What we do not do

  • No accounts, logins, or user profiles
  • No cloud storage or sync
  • No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
  • No advertising or ad tracking
  • No sale or sharing of personal information (we have none to sell or share)
  • No third-party analytics, tracking, marketing, or data-broker services

Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive your name, payment details, or billing information. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Your use of paid features is also governed by our Terms & Conditions.

App services and updates

The App makes only two kinds of network connection, and neither sends your voice recordings or practice history off the device:

  • Apple (App Store / StoreKit): to show subscription prices and process purchases and restores. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive your name, payment, or billing details.
  • App updates (Expo / EAS Update): the App may check for and download over-the-air updates to the app's code from our update provider, Expo. As with any internet request, this involves basic technical information such as your device type, app and update version, and IP address, which the provider processes only to deliver the correct update. We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile, advertise to you, or track you across apps or websites, and it never includes your recordings or practice data.

We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking services. Speech prompts are generated on your device; no practice text or audio is sent to any speech service.

Website analytics

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page visits and referral sources. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors. This website analytics does not run inside the SpeakPapa app and never includes voice recordings, practice history, or app settings.

Security

Because SpeakPapa keeps everything on your device and operates no servers, accounts, or backups, your information is protected primarily by your own device's security — your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and the operating system's built-in encryption. We hold no database, cloud storage, or credentials that could be breached, leaked, or phished to reach your data, and your voice recordings and practice history are never transmitted off the device. The most effective way to protect your on-device data is to keep your device locked with a passcode and to keep its operating system up to date. If you sell, recycle, or give away your device, delete the app (or erase the device) first.

Deleting your data

Because everything is local, deleting the app from your device permanently deletes all recordings, history, and settings. Some data (such as practice items or recordings) can also be cleared from within the app where such options are shown.

Children

SpeakPapa is designed for adults practicing speech at home and for their adult caregivers, and is intended for users aged 18 and older. It is not designed for, validated for, or marketed to children, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included — because we collect no personal information at all. If a parent or legal guardian chooses to use the app with a minor (see the "Use by or with children" section of our Terms & Conditions), no information is collected from that child either; any recording stays on the device under the guardian's control.

SpeakPapa is a home practice aid. It is not a medical device, provides no medical advice, does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and does not replace a physician, speech-language pathologist, or emergency care. It supports home practice between professional care. If you have concerns about your or a family member's health, consult a qualified professional. Intellectual property

The SpeakPapa app, its content (including the curated library of Hindi sounds, words, phrases, sentences, and audio), design, and the SpeakPapa name and logo are owned by AutismGPT LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. This Privacy Policy grants no rights to that material; your use of the app is governed by the Terms & Conditions.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA/Texas DPSA, and similar laws)

Privacy laws give you rights over personal data that companies hold about you. We hold none: we do not collect, process, or store your personal data on any system we control. Requests for access, deletion, or portability are satisfied by the fact that all data is on your own device, under your control. If you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example, an email you sent to support), contact us and we will address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy on this page, effective when posted. Because we operate no accounts and hold no contact details for users, we cannot and do not send individual update notices — please review this page periodically; the version posted here always applies. If a future version of the app adds features that change how data is handled (for example, optional cloud backup), we will update this policy first and describe the change in the app's release notes.
